1. Large Group this week will NOT be in SDC 1300/1310. Join us Friday at 7 PM in Building 8-1250 (auditorium to the left when you enter from Infinity Quad) for a surprise speaker. Next week, Large Group in the SDC will resume.
2. Things to be mindful of:
A. If you are a female, I cordially invite you to our 3rd annual Women’s Dine Around this Saturday, September 26th at 6 PM. We will begin with appetizers at 189C and 185D Perkins and continue with dinner and dessert and other locations around campus. This is one of my favorite events of the year because it is a splendid opportunity to fellowship with other ladies. Feel free to invite friends.
B. It is estimated that one in four Ethiopians is infected with HIV/AIDS and compassionate people are doing something to help them and prevent further infection. One clinic in Ethiopia, the SIM/KHC Dawe Langano Clinic, is seeking to open a voluntary AIDS testing and testing center. Join with us as we support them in this venture. Run or walk in our fundraising 5K on October 4th ($15 suggested donation or as much as you can raise) or volunteer to help out during the race. Contact Evan to sign up for either.
C. InterVarsity’s annual retreat is coming up! Keep your ears and eyes peeled for more information about Expedition in your small group and at Large Group.
3. Do you ever get to the end of the week and feel like you hardly had a chance to think about God’s Word, hang out with encouraging people, or pray for your friends? I have found my small group to be the perfect antidote for busy, dreary, godlessness. Find a small group that fits into your schedule here.
4. Speaking of prayer, if you have something that you would like prayer for, email ritprays@gmail.com or be sure to get prayer after Large Group from one of the designated prayer volunteers in the back.
5. Ephesians 2:22 says that we are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit. One way we get built together is when we contribute our time and talents to the community of God that we have been placed in. If you want to be a part of this construction, please reply to this email with a check next to the items below that fit your interests and skills:

6. And now for a story. As Sara Burgess was visiting freshman last week in the dorms, she ran into a friend from last year that she hadn’t seen for awhile. She chatted with him briefly and promised to hang out with him again when she could, but didn’t think much about the encounter. Later this week she received a facebook message from him asking her if he could attend church with her. Sara has never had a spiritual conversation with him that she can remember or explicitly told him about her faith. Praise God for transforming us into His likeness so that others recognize Jesus in us. If you have a story of how God has used you, let me know.
