1. Join us Friday at 7 PM in 8-1250 to hear from alums Dave Ortiz and Richard Nichols on Bringing Back the Buddy System.
2. Afterwards, lots of fun planned, invite your friends:
- Manover- if you’re a guy, get ready for two games of Laser Quest to be followed by other manly things done at Artisan Church. You’ll leave by 9:20 PM after Large Group. Bring some moola ($10 or so).
- Slurp and Burp- if you’re a girl, join us at Trinity Alliance Church (we’ll be leaving from Large Group, as well) for undisclosed fun. Bring all the things you normally bring to girls’ sleep overs, more or less…
If you want to attend either of the above but have obligations Saturday and don’t want to sleep over, you can leave early, too.
3. Don’t leave town the weekend of the 30th/31st!
- Our quarterly Town Meeting is immediately after Large Group on Friday, January 30th. Come and help us figure out how far we’ve come and how far we have to go.
- After the Town Meeting, worship God with your brothers and sisters at RIT, fellowship, and eat free pizza and wings. CAB is sponsoring the event in the RITz from 10 PM-Midnight and has removed the $1 admittance fee regardless of what posters might say.
4. InterVarsity’s Leadership Summit is Saturday, January 31st. Kind of like a mini Expedition, Leadership Summit is an opportunity for you to learn more about evangelism, spiritual gifts, small group leading, and serving. It’s at the University of Buffalo so we’ll meet at Gracies at 7:30 AM and get back around 6 PM. Cost is $10 but lunch is provided.
5. Friday evening, Val suddenly felt herself get sick. This discouraged her more than sickness usually does because she was planning to start and finish a scene from her animation all day Saturday, a feat unlikely in itself as it had taken her a week to do a less complex scene before Christmas. She prayed that God would give her strength. Saturday, although still sick, Val had the strength to complete the entire scene. God gives us what we need when we ask Him.
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.”
Praise God!
