To answer (re-iterate) on your first question, Christianity is the only religion that do not require us to do good works for salvation. Good works come AFTER we are saved.

When it comes to a religion, we must first look for its Founder. Christianity was founded by Jesus Christ and the term Christian is first mentioned in the book of Acts which was written shortly after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Acts 11:26 "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. AND THE DISCIPLES WERE CALLED CHRISTIANS FIRST IN ANTIOCH")

Jesus Christ is the central person in Christianity. Jesus fulfilled ALL the Old Testament prophecies concerning Him, performed miracles, healed the sick, lame, deaf, blind), to show that He was God in the flesh. The odds of fulfilling the prophecies are extremely small that it is almost an impossibility.

Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life which is another reason why He is God. The same cannot be said of Buddha, Mohammad, Mary, and many other gods people worship out there. Jesus always spoke the truth and He is always right, which makes Christianity right over the other religions.

The death, burial and resurrection of Christ fulfilled the law once and for all. Jesus Christ is THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

If you have ever lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain. You are a sinner. Please realize this.

We must put our faith in Jesus Christ alone, for the work He did on that cross to take care of the problem of sin. We must put our faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, repent of our sins and turn to Him. Once you do that you are on your way to Heaven when you die.

If God is omnipotent (all-powerful) and omniscient (all-knowing), how can humans have free will? Doesn’t God already know what is going to happen? Didn’t he decide to make it happen that way?

God is also love and giving us free will is an act of His love. It would be unfair and controlling for God not to give it to us since we will be like robots. God is also outside of time which is why He knows the end from the beginning. Even though He knows it, we as humans, are bound by time and do not know.

As humans, we are free to do what we want to, and God has provided us with a manual (The Bible) to help us do the things that please Him, glorify Him, and honor Him. That is one of our purposes in life as a Christian. It is our choice if we are to obey or not. God also tells us of the consequences for disobedience.

With all kinds of actions/activities in the world today due to the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God gives us His commands in the Bible for our protection. What God says NO in the Bible, we are NOT to do or there will be consequences.

In conclusion we have free will, but we must exercise our free will according to what the Bible teaches us. Discipline and serious consequences await those who disobey.

That is a good question Katrina.

We must understand that the world was created GOOD in the beginning. In Genesis chapter 1, "God saw that it was good..."
God Created a perfect environment in the Garden of Eden. No death, no illness, no disease, no natural disasters etc.

God specifically told Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. One simple command. The problem came, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God i.e. rebelled against God which is SIN. God gave them a choice to obey or to disobey. We messed it up, not God.

(Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so DEATH PASSED UPON ALL MEN, for that all have sinned:")

As a result, everyone born today inherit a sin nature i.e. we do what is best for us. (Romans 3:23 "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.") We do not have to teach our child to be selfish, they know it naturally. The perfect environment is gone and we live in a fallen world (filled with natural disasters, diseases) which are part of God's judgment upon evil men.

God's nature though is still the same, must punish sin since God is Holy and Just. God is also Love in the fact that He has sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ into the world and His sacrifice on the cross enables us now to have fellowship with Him. Before that happens, we as individuals must realize that we are sinners, guilty before God. (Have you ever lied, stolen, used God's name in vain? If so, you are a sinner) We must repent of our sins and turn to Jesus Christ ALONE for salvation, by faith realize that His death, burial and resurrection was the work that He did to pay the penalty for our sins (which is burning in hell forever). No works needed for salvation. Once you are saved, you are born again, you have fellowship with God and ALL of your sins are forgiven.

If you would like to talk further Katrina, please let me know.

Comment on Old and New Testaments, Laws by Bible Believing Christian

What’s up with those crazy old testament laws? Did God just change his mind about them for the New Testament?

In the Old Testament, God chose a person (Abraham) and a nation to represent Him (The Jews). God gave the law in order to help the Jews rightly relate to Him. The laws pertaining to the Jewish custom do not apply to Christians today. The moral laws, however, are still something that Christians have to obey, not to be saved, but to please God.

God does not change. (Malachi 3:6 "For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.")

Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. The New Testament begins with the death of the Testator (Jesus Christ). When Jesus rose from the dead after three days, the law was fulfilled. (Hebrews 9:16-17 "For where a TESTAMENT is, there must also of necessity be the DEATH OF THE TESTATOR. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.")

Sacrifice of animals was necessary annually to TEMPORARILY cover the sins of the Jews as a nation. The death, burial and resurrection of Christ fulfilled the law once and for all. Jesus Christ is THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE which is why we do not make sacrifices today.

If you have ever lied, stolen, used God's name in vain. You are a sinner. Please realize this.

That is a good question and I am glad you asked.

Let's look at the Bible.

The Bible describes Hell as a place of TORMENT.

Luke 16:22-24 "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in HELL he lift up his eyes, BEING IN TORMENTS, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I AM TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME."

Hell a place of everlasting fire, fire that is not quenched.

"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye CURSED, into EVERLASTING FIRE..." Matthew 25:41

"...for their WORM shall not die, neither shall their FIRE be quenched..." Isaiah 66:24

Hell is NEVER full.
"HELL and destruction are NEVER FULL; so the eyes of man are never satisfied." Proverbs 27:20

We must understand that God is Holy (without sin) and He is also Just (Fair). He hates the presence of sin.

As human beings none of us are good. (Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE:")
All of us have sinned. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vain? If so, then you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.)

God, being just and Holy, has every right to condemn us to hell.
God is also love and He does not want you to go to hell for eternity. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die a horrible death on the cross. Jesus Christ NEVER SINNED and his death took care of the sin problem once and for all past, present and future. (Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the FORGIVENESS OF SINS, according to the riches of his grace;)
As individuals living in a brief period of time, we must acknowledge that we are sinners, guilty before God. Then we must, by faith, put our 100% trust in Jesus Christ ALONE for salvation so that we won't go to hell when we die. The Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is sufficient so that God no longer sees the individual as sinful, but RIGHTEOUS and can go to Heaven when he/she dies.

Going to Heaven is easy. No works are required. I can point you to the right direction, but it is up to you to individually take the next step by faith.

Comment on Homosexuality, etc. by Bible Believing Christian

As a Christian, we look to the Bible as our final authority in all faith and practice regardless of anyone's opinion. I am writing this because I love people (including homosexuals) and there is a short gospel presentation towards the end.

Homosexuality is considered an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. Here are some Old Testament and New Testament verses.

Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

This is pretty clear. "Thou shall not..." God says NO. "lie with mankind as with womankind..." sleep with a man as if you are sleeping with a woman. "it is abomination" abomination is defined as something detestable, an object of disgust.

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an ABOMINATION: they shall surely PUT TO DEATH; their blood shall be upon them."

God reinforces His hatred toward homosexuality, but not only that, they are to be put to death!

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Isn't this scary? Homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God! (aka Heaven) That leaves the other alternative...Hell! It is clear that Homosexuality is a SIN!

If you are a homosexual reading this, I plead with you to get saved. There is no such thing as a Homosexual Christian. A Christian is a child of God and looking at these verses, we can see that God hates homosexuality. It is a work of iniquity! (Psalm 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity) God hates the workers of iniquity!!

God loves you and wants you to be saved and go to Heaven when you die. It is simple to be saved.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;). Let me ask you, have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything before? Have you ever used God's name in vain? If you said yes then you are a sinner.

2. REPENT of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ ALONE. (John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life; NO MAN cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME."). Put your faith in Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ whose shed blood covered your sins to demonstrate His love for YOU personally. No works are needed for salvation. (1 Corinthians 15 1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ DIED for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures."

3. Once you have done that, you are saved. Please do not put this off. You have no idea how much longer you are going to be on this planet.

God Bless

2. REPENT of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ ALONE. (John 14:6 “I am the way the truth and the life; NO MAN cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME.”). Put your faith in Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ whose shed blood covered your sins to demonstrate His love for YOU personally. No works are needed for salvation. (1 Corinthians 15 1-4 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ DIED for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures.”

3. Once you have done that, you are saved. Please do not put this off. You have no idea how much longer you are going to be on this planet.

God Bless

Several people have answered the question so I won’t belabor it anymore then I have to.
Our original sin was caused by a choice not to follow God. The fact that God allows people to go to hell is the ultimate expression of His love. I know it sounds strange, but let me explain. He says: if you’re not willing to live for me in those short eighty years of your life, I don’t want to force you to live for me for all of eternity.
Think about it this way. Perfect love is not about what I want, but what about the other person wants. So God is saying, I want you to be with me in Heaven, but if you don’t want to, I, in my love, will allow you to live your life the way you want. That’s not to say that he won’t try to bring us to Him, but He loves us enough that He won’t protrude on our personal decision to choose Him or not.
So God allows people to reside in a place where His attributes do not exist. Those attributes include love, peace, joy, light…etc.
