I'm an 2006 RIT alumnus, Graphic Design, and went to my second ever bible study during the winter quarter of 2007/2008 and it's there where I met Marty, I was in the Drawing Closer to God bible study led by Rich and (a girl, i can't remember her name). The bible study was so long ago I can barely remember everyone that was there, I remember that I was fairly new being a follower in Christ, and that I was kind of nervous going to a new environment and not knowing what we would talk about, I remember Marty, because I think he picked up that I was kind of quiet, and he would always ask me how I was doing, and we would have short conversations in the small group. He was sensitive and very friendly to me, and I remember he was friendly to others in the group too. He brought his dad and knew a non-believer that was there too, so it seemed he was able to reach out to all sort of people with different backgrounds.
I don't remember if he was ill or not at the time...but I'm glad he's with the Lord now.
God bless,
Christina Tsiamouras

To the family and friends of Marty Setto... I am a former IVCF member at RIT. I have never met your son because I graduated in '03, but I just wanted you to know that I am keeping you in my prayers. May the Lord Jesus Christ comfort you and bless you. I feel a strong desire to pray for you and I will continue to do so. May He keep you and bless you.
Your sister in Christ,
Halia Babchuk
Marty had a friendly smile that was contagious. He made people feel comfortable and welcome in any situation. He was well loved by his friends at school and often in our thoughts and prayers. Marty, you will be missed.

My name is Joshua Horn. I just graduated from RIT this past May.
While I wasn't among Marty's closest friends, I feel like I gained and grew a lot through my relationship with him. One of the things that sticks out the most in my mind was his gentle and yet whimsical demeanor. He could be serious when he needed to be, but was generally a fun-loving kind of guy, with a joke or humorous thought on his mind. I always had fun around him and I miss the laughter he brought to any room or group.
He will be missed and the family will remain in my prayers.

My name is Troy Martin. I have been at RIT for three years so far. I met Marty during my second year through an InterVarsity small group (in Perkins). I got to know Marty through the group and was continually impressed with his character. He was truly a man of God, and his desire to better know God and understand his hopes for us as his children was so evident in our discussions at small group. I will always remember him as a great guy to be around, and as someone I could look up to. You are already missed Marty, but I rejoice that you are still in God's care.
