The Latin American Student Association, also called LASA, was established in 1985 at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and functions as an institute organization under the Department of Club Affairs. We provide opportunities for our members to learn, embrace, and share their Latin heritage; while at the same time creating and supporting cultural awarness in a social and familial atmosphere. Membership is open to regularly enrolled undergraduates, graduate students, post-graduates, faculty and staff, and night students. We generally meet bi-weekly, and co-sponsor several events with affiliated organizations. The organization is led by a group of dedicated officers that are nominated and voted for by the membership. Committees are also in place to help plan events. To learn more about LASA please feel free to browse through our site and/or take a look at our Constitution. "La Union Hace la Fuerza!" Come and learn or share the Latino culture. Embrace the culture of others, and enjoy the company of all your friends, and make new ones in the process. LASA stands for both social and cultural purposes, and is a central organization within the RIT latino community.
