OUTspoken provides representation for the GLBT community within RIT’s Student Government. OUTspoken seeks to create an environment within the RIT community that is inclusive to all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, and to eradicate heterosexism, homophobia and transphobia within the Rochester area. To accomplish this task, our MSO (Major Student Organization) seeks to partner with clubs and other organizations, such as RITGA and the GLBT Center, to provide programs and services, such as our GLBT speaker series, which will further educate the RIT community to GLBT concerns.
Our meetings this quarter are from 6:00-7:00 Thursdays in the MSO Lounge until week 5, and in the Kathy Hall Conference Room in the Campus Center after week 5.
The job description is listed below. If you are interested in the position, please email a resume and cover letter to OUTspoken at outspkn@rit.edu or hand it in to a current e-board member by Thursday December 15, 2011 at 6pm.
The Programming Director shall program events that are consistent with OUTspoken’s goals and purposes, shall reserve appropriate rooms for each of OUTspoken’s events, shall register and request appropriate services for each of OUTspoken’s events, and shall coordinate and lead all of OUTspoken’s community service efforts.
