In the fall of 2011 four students came together to discuss their interest in the law with hopes to attend law school. Noticing that the Rochester Institute of Technology lacked such an organization to prepare students for law school, they decided to charter the RIT Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.
With the intent of bringing a pre-law fraternity to RIT, the founders gathered fifteen individuals who also shared a common interest in the law. On Feb 3, 2012, 19 pre-law students were initiated into the 305th Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.
The goals of the chapter are as such: to generate a community in which brings together students interested in the law and to prepare for law school as well as obtaining a career within the legal profession.
