We Do Big Things
President Barack Obama delivered a strong message on American innovation at his 2011 State of the Union address.
“The first step in winning the future is encouraging American innovation,” he said. “What we can do - what America does better than anyone - is spark the creativity and imagination of our people. In America, innovation doesn’t just change our lives—it’s how we make a living.”
Well, Mr. President, we think you will like this. Imagine 35,000 visitors swarming a college campus just for the topic of innovation. Imagine 400 exhibits highlighting innovative products and services, spread across the nation’s 15th largest private university. Imagine visitors engaged with entrepreneurial students, faculty and staff who offer technical and creative solutions to vexing problems.
Welcome to Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival. Join us Saturday, May 7.
This year’s event will feature hundreds of interactive exhibits, performances and demonstrations. Visitors can examine senior design projects, play student-designed video games, enjoy musical and theatrical performances and revel in the traditional festival fare.
“We’re incredibly excited to unveil our fourth Imagine RIT Festival on May 7,” says Barry Culhane, the festival’s chairman. “We have a number of new exhibits that will wow our visitors and many crowd favorites from festival’s past will return, as well.” Imagine RIT takes place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., May 7 on the RIT campus. Parking is free and is available at RIT or at MCC, with a free shuttle to campus. Admission is free and all are welcome.
