Freshmen Transition Workshop
The transition from high school into college is often a major adjustment for students, and can be difficult to navigate. The AIM program would like to address these transitional challenges that first year students may face, as well as assist them in gaining the skills necessary to be successful in their first year at RIT.
The Learning Assistant is available to present workshops that will help to prepare students for academic success. These may be offered through FYE or Freshman Seminar courses, or outside of class for those who are interested.
Workshops topics would include:
- College Level Learning
- Academic Planning & Goal Setting
- Time MAnagement & Prioritization
- Staying Motivated During Your First Year
- Assessing Progress & Engaging with Resources
- LASSI: Learning & Study Strategies Inventory
Workshop modules are available to RIT faculty and staff who are interested in presenting these topics to their students.
