Academic Coaching

Discover your learning strengths! Our goal is your success!

Academic Coaching is a free service that introduces students in more effective learning and study strategies. Students work 1:1 with a Student Support Specialist to enhance time management and study habits as well as learn of important resources on campus. Academic Coaching utilizes an individualized approach helping students identify academic strengths and strategies that will aid in learning.

Students can make an appointment by contacting the Academic Support Center

  • (by email): asc@rit.edu
  • (by phone): 585-475-6682
  • (Walk-in): The ASC is located on the 2nd floor of Monroe Hall (building 15) above Artesano Bakery and Cafe.

Students needing interpreting should submit requests through NTID Access Services. Please be sure to allow enough advance notice for Access Services to accommodate your request.

The program offers an intervention and mentoring approach in which we meet with students to evaluate where they may be struggling and work with them to obtain the support they need to be successful.

The Learning Assistant will work with students to customize a plan for academic support, beginning with an intake process. Our goal is the make sure students are aware of the many academic resources that RIT has to offer and to assist them in connecting with these services as necessary.
