"The ASC is like a safety net: a place for RIT students to get back on their feet."

Reading - a complex interaction between the text and the reader - is not a simple task. It is a complex cognitive process of decoding in order to derive meaning. This process requires practice, development and refinement. If you are struggling with the required amount of readings and are feeling overwhelmed by the volume and complexity of the reading assignments, schedule a reading appointment in the Academic Support Center.
Please call the ASC office (585-475-6682) to reschedule your appointment.
If you are a faculty or staff member referring a student, please email asc@rit.edu. Please inform the student that he/she will be contacted by an ASC staff person to arrange a meeting.
Include the following information in your referral:
Are the sessions free?
Yes. There is no charge for any of the reading services.
Are the screening results reported to my department?

Will I need an interpreter?
