Why do I go to the Academic Support Center? First of all, the Math Lab (now located in the Bates Study Center 08-1200) is one of the best places to study or do homework even if you are not having problems. The tutors are always there to help—they are patient and you will never feel rushed. Basically, it’s for everyone. In fact, one of the biggest reasons I came to RIT in the first place was the level of support that they provide to all of us which you don’t get at many other schools.
As a Mechanical Engineering student, my dream is to be a conceptual airplane designer. In working with Structured Monitoring Program (formerly LSS), I found out that asking for help is necessary to succeed in college. I am the type of student who has to work for every inch, and the ASC has been there for me every step of the way. They have helped me to find my inner student, the type who starts his homework right after class, doesn’t procrastinate as much, and who is unafraid to ask for help when it is needed.
For me, going to the ASC is a no-brainer. If you are interested in good grades, here is the simple 4 step secret:
