1. Required Core Workshops (5 Total)
For full certification credit, you must complete all 5 modules. As you move forward, we will recognize your progress with enhanced status badges. Achievement Points

2. Elective Credit (2 Total)
For full certification credit, you must complete 2 modules. Achievement Points
Workshop hosted by RIT’s Tutor Training program  
Watch RIT Tutor Training video modules and reply to 5 scenarios  
Read and respond to 5 scenarios in RIT Tutor Training packet  
Participate in 2 tutor-related community service opportunities  
Workshop hosted by Academic Support Center on academic skills

Make up your own! If you have an idea for earning elective credit, send an email with your proposal to Tutor@RIT.edu. Examples could include departmental training, special speakers on campus, related book review)

3. Interview (1 Total)
For full certification, you will schedule a 30-minute meeting with the RIT Tutor Training coordinator to discuss your tutor/training experiences and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Achievement Points

4. Content Verification (1 Total)
For full certification, you will provide proof of your content expertise. Achievement Points
Proof that you received an A or B in course for which you tutor. (You can provide the Tutor Training coordinator written permission to check your grade.)  
Written acknowledgement from your supervisor that you have the expertise appropriate for your content area.  
Transcript from another institution or other proof of credentials in your content area.  
In some cases, a recommendation from a tutor client may suffice as content verification. Check with Tutor@RIT.edu for more information.
