ASC Math and Physics Tutoring

What you will find is a quiet study room staffed by peer tutors and periodically by math instructors. Students with math and/or physics questions can come on a drop-in basis; no appointments or referrals are necessary.

Math and physics tutors can help with questions from homework, lecture notes, textbook and practice quizzes and practice tests. The tutors can’t help with take-home tests, take-home quizzes, or anything else that will be submitted for a quiz or test grade.

All tutors can help with algebra, trigonometry and calculus courses. Many tutors are engineering students and will help with any level of physics. Other tutors are proficient in Discrete math. There are 2 locations for math and physics tutoring: One location is in the Gosnell Building—the Bates Study Center— and one is in the Sol Heumann Residence Hall—the Sol Study Center.

There are 2 tutoring locations.

The Bates Study Center is located on the first floor of the College of Science (Gosnell Building 08, Room 1200) and is open from Monday through Thursday 9am – 8pm and Friday 9am – 6pm. Although all tutors can help with algebra, trigonometry and calculus courses, others can help with higher level mathematics and physics. Check the tutor schedule for more details.

The Sol Study Center is located on the residential side of campus in the Sol Heumann Residence Hall Monday to Thursday evenings from 7 pm – 10pm. Check the tutor schedule for more details.
