If this sounds like your writing process, then the Writing Center is for you. We work with freshmen to Ph.D. candidates. Even faculty members. If you are stuck in the damp and scary cellar of writing, we will help you up the stairs to the shining lounge of happy, well-lit writers.
The Writing Center is staffed by a crack team of professional writing instructors. This means that when you visit, you will be provided with a one-on-one tutoring session with a professor of writing who will help you with any of the following stages of the writing process:
Stage 1: Holy-bleep-what-do-I-write-my-bleepin’-essay-on?
Stage 2: This-draft-is-a-steaming-pile-of-something-unmentionable.
Stage 3: I-like-this-but-something-obvious-is-missing.
Stage 4: Why-didn’t-I-go-to-the-Writing-Center-a-long-time-ago??
Reservations are not accepted — just show up. We even have instructors fluent in ASL, and IT’S ALL FREE, including the use of our two computers, a printer, and all the gourmet coffee you can hold!
DON’T FORGET:
- Please bring your assignment with you.
- Typical sessions last 30 minutes or 10 pages.
- We have a large library of resources for you to consult.
