Electronic Gaming Society at RIT

Who wants to play?

Have you ever walked by the Davis Room when you’re on campus late at night (you know, that place you eat in at the Brick City Café), and wonder why there are a bunch of people playing video games?

Well, you’re looking at Electronic Gaming Society (EGS), RIT's all-inclusive video game club. EGS strives to offer a fun environment where students can enjoy a large variety of titles on a wide variety of different platforms. They host weekly meetings on Wednesdays from 8pm-11pm in the SAU Davis Room, as well as several tournaments and LAN parties each semester. Did we mention there’s usually free food?

Need a break from studying? The EGS weekly gaming events are a great way for students to unwind and meet new people and fellow gamers. There seems to be some sort of stigma behind gaming which suggests that gamers are isolated from society. But EGS defies such stigmas, bringing students together to enjoy something they love. EGS' mission is to "provide gaming events to all varieties of gamers and non-gamers." You don't even have to be a "gamer" to attend! Their Facebook page can provide more information on their upcoming weekly events.
