Skate for a Cause

Skate for a Cause

Helping to make one child's dream come true.

Just days before Thanksgiving Break, RIT’s Women in Business (WIB) partnered with Make-A-Wish of Western New York, and hosted Skate for a Cause. Through a small admission fee of just five dollars, the event was able to raise enough money to send seven-year-old Robert to Disney World to meet Mickey Mouse!

Robert has cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that limits one’s ability to breathe and  produces persistent lung infections. All of the funds raised from the event will go towards the costs associated with his trip.

The event itself proved to be a success, not only because the money was raised, but because people in the RIT community could have fun and skate with friends.

WIB provides RIT women with the opportunity to develop their personal, professional, and service skills and relationships. The group holds member meetings every other Monday in Saunders College of Business room 1105/1110 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
