Overview
RIT recognizes the need for wellness education
in today's society. To meet this need, RIT offers
an exceptional program of specifically designed
courses to help students develop and maintain
a well-balanced, active lifestyle. Our programs
involve optimal development of the physical self,
the constructive use of stress energy and effectiveness
in communicating and dealing with emotions. Consistent
application of the above concepts plus other aspects
of the body-mind connection assist students to
enhance their health.
The
Wellness education requirement is designed to
assist students in making healthy decisions and
choices to support their academic and social interactions
in college and beyond. The learning experiences
provided throughout the wellness curriculum are
an integral part of the total educational experience
at RIT.
