  General Wellness Course Information  

Wellness Activity courses are offered during all academic quarters, including summer.

More than 550 wellness activity courses are available during the year. Course offerings vary each quarter. Registration for Wellness courses coincides with the dates and times for the academic departments. A nominal fee is charged for most courses which the Institute covers for the first two (max. $120).

Health and Wellness Seminars (1107): Wellness for Life and Wellness Challenge Exam, Massage: Holistic Therapy, Sexuality and Safety, Eating, Body Image and Food, Motivation and Leadership, How to Be Smoke Free, Applied Study Strategies, Spirituality and Health, Stress Management, and Meditation Practices.

 

Dance (1108): Lyrical Ballet, Ballroom, Beginner Dance, Country Line, Latin, Jazz, Swing, Irish Step, Tap, Argentine Tango, and Hip Hop .

 

Fitness (1109): Cardio Conditioning, Power Sculpt, Cardio-Boxing & Abs, Aqua: Tone and Condition, Weight Training (Beginner, Intermediate and Women only sections), Spinning (Spin and Sculpt, Endurance Spinning, Spin and Core), Pilates, Yoga, PiYo™, Turbo Kick™, Bootcamp, Running for Fitness and Competition, Walking for Fitness, Core Glutes and Abs, Cardio Kickboxing, Deep Water Challenge, EXTREME Fitness, Health/Fitness Challenge, Water Walking, and Zumba.

Life Support and Safety (1110): CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instruction.

 

Lifetime Recreation and Leisure (1111): Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Basketball Bootcamp, Pocket Billiards, Bowling, Diving, Fencing, Flag Football, Frisbee (Ultimate), Golf (Beginner and Advanced), Horseback/English (off-campus), Horseback/Western (off-campus), Ice Skating, In-Line Skating, Ice Hockey, Juggling, Racquetball, Sabre, Softball, Team Handball, Soccer (Indoor/Outdoor), Skiing (downhill), Snow Boarding, Swimming, Tennis, Dodgeball, and Volleyball.

 

Interactive Adventures (1112): Backpacking, Camp Cooking, Canoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Kayaking, Kayak Rolling, Hiking, Rock Climbing (Indoor & Outdoor), Bouldering, Top-Rope Set Up, Training for Climbers, Ice Climbing, Snow Shoeing, Adirondack Snowshoeing, Wilderness Skills, Bicycle Care/Maintenance and Canoe Camping.

 

Martial Arts: (1113): Aikido, Karate, Kung Fu, Kung Fu Rank Test Review, Kali Level I, Qigong, Tai Chi, Self-Defense, Sparring and Brazilian Capoeira.

 

ROTC: (1114): Army ROTC (leadership drills and leadership lab), Air Force ROTC (physical training and leadership lab) and Navy ROTC.  Note: Prerequisite for all above courses is enrollment in the RIT ROTC Programs.

 

As a faculty/staff member, you can take advantage of the student wellness classes that are offered quarterly.

Registration for faculty/staff occurs after all students have registered.   

If you have taken classes at RIT previously, register at Student Info System

A Registration Form will need to be completed if you have never taken a course at RIT.
