Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most incredible areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs--as high as 600 feet in some places--surrounded by lush forests. With 66 miles of hiking trails in the park and another 25+ miles of single track near the park, you’ll discover one of the best kept secrets of the Rochester Area. On this trip we will explore the Genesee River Gorge (from the Mt. Morris side of the gorge) by mountain bike as we ride the Finger Lakes Trail – one of the most scenic single track rides in Western, NY. In between our bike rides we will explore the waterfalls in the park by foot. If you love riding amazing single track with breath-taking views you won’t want to miss this trip!
Riders MUST provide their own bikes and helmets, and must carry their own gear throughout the ride. A full pack list will be available upon registration.
Mountain Bike rentals are available locally in Rochester from Towpath Bike (http://www.towpathbike.com/) who is generously offering an amazing deal to RIT students enrolled in this program: $160 for a high-end, full-suspension mountain bike for the entire trip (normally $80 per day)!!
