Gearing Up for Success

A growing number of students on the autism spectrum are pursuing their college dream at RIT and are valued part of our diverse campus community.  Gearing up for Success is offered to provide the additional support needed to make a more successful transition to RIT.  The program offers an opportunity to increase your comfort and confidence in navigating life as an RIT student.  Group sessions will cover a multitude of topics including; using social thinking to build social connections, managing your time and strategies for college success.  You will have an opportunity to walk through your fall class schedule and discover campus resources available to help you succeed at RIT.  On and off campus social activities, including a trip to the Strong Museum E-game exhibit, comedy improv event and a game night social, will help you make some initial connections and support you in making a smoother transition to RIT.

This program is recommended for students who are enrolled in the Spectrum Support Program
