A growing number of students on the autism spectrum are pursuing their college dream at RIT and are a valued part of our diverse campus community. Gearing up for Success is offered to provide additional support toward making a more successful transition to RIT. The program offers an opportunity to increase your comfort and confidence in navigating life as an RIT student. Group sessions will cover a multitude of topics including; using social thinking to build social connections, time management and strategies for college success. You will have an opportunity to walk through your fall class schedule, learn to use the RIT tunnel and shuttle system and discover a multitude of campus resources available to help you succeed at RIT. On and off campus social activities, including a trip to the Strong Museum E-game exhibit, a comedy improv event and a bowling outing, will help you make some initial connections and support you in making a smoother transition to RIT.
