FACEtime: Beginner Backpacking A/B
This program will be split up into two sections, so each section will be up to 6 people, not 12. FACEtime facilitates face-to-face encounters that develop Friendships, a sense of Adventure, Connections with resources and meaningful Engagement. FACEtime programs are run by Interactive Adventures, RIT's outdoor education program. Explore the beauty of a wilderness setting, learn the ins and outs of backpacking and make your first (and possibly best) friends of your college career. This trip requires little or no backpacking experience and will involve hikes on easy to moderate terrain. Learn backcountry skills, enjoy the simplicity of the woods, and make the friends that you will be spending your college years with while living off of only what you carry on your back. The trip fee covers most backpacking/camping gear (including tents, sleeping bags, and backpacks), all group gear, transportation, and meals are provided. Participants must have proper backpacking footwear and clothing for the outdoors.
