About RIT

RIT CampusRochester Institute of Technology

Founded in 1829, RIT is a private technological university. It is located on a beautiful, modern 1,300-acre campus in the town of Henrietta, a suburb of Rochester, New York. RIT comprises eight colleges: Applied Science and Technology; Business; Computing and Information Sciences; Engineering; Imaging Arts and Sciences; Liberal Arts; Science; and the federally funded National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Currently, more than 1,400 international students, representing 90 countries worldwide, are enrolled at RIT.

The University has wonderful facilities for its 15,000 students. There is a library, weight room, indoor track, indoor olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor ice-skating rink, and several cafeterias. There is a Health Center with two doctors, special services on immigration issues for international students and a child care center which cares for young children while parents are in classes.
