Being in a sorority gives each sister the opportunity to make an impact on the world around them and their local community.

Philanthropy and community service are very important to each sorority on campus. Each chapter on campus has a national philanthropy or non-profit organization that they support and some also support local organizations. In order to raise money and awareness Greeks on campus hand out flyers, organize tournaments, put on shows, put up posters, throw dances and coordinate with other organizations to make each as successful as possible. Many hours of community service are completed as well by serving at food banks, animal shelters, blood drives, volunteering at events and becoming mentors.

Some of the national philanthropies that are supported are:

  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF)
  • Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD)
  • Delta Phi Epsilon Education Foundation
  • Special Olympics
  • S. June Smith Center and Foundation
  • American Cancer Society
  • Autism Speaks
  • Sigma Serves the Children
