La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity (LUL) was established on February 19, 1982 in order to address the shortcomings of academic institutions in meeting and addressing the needs of Latino students in higher education. Founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Lambda Upsilon Lambda primarily seeks to take a leadership role in meeting the needs of the Latino community through cultural awareness, community service, and promotion of the Latino culture and people.

La Unidad Latina believes in a diverse membership, a commitment to academic excellence and a proactive vision towards raising awareness about the Latino culture and history. Through these efforts we hope to affect change and provide our community with examples of leadership, integrity and self-empowerment that will allow us to challenge adversity and inequality.
