The Arthur O. Eve
Higher Education Opportunity Program at Rochester Institute
of Technology is committed to recruit and enroll as freshmen
underrepresented populations that would otherwise be ineligible
for admission and to provide access to RIT for eligible transfers.
This commitment to financially and academically disenfranchised
students stems from a belief in the rightness of access and
equity.
The program provides an intensive, integrated and comprehensive academic and personal support to maximize its students opportunity to persist in higher education. This support includes a summer preparatory program, a broad-based tutoring program, a comprehensive counseling component, a case management philosophy, and a whole student approach to delivery of services.
The primary anticipated outcome is
that the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program
at Rochester Institute of Technology will be able to continue
to provide the access and equity to the disenfranchised population
it currently serves and that, though its continued provision
of comprehensive services, it will maintain its reputation
for graduating its students into professions in which they
are underrepresented.
