A Message From the RIT Leadership Institute

To All Students,

Winter quarter is a great time to get involved with the RIT Leadership Institute and Community Service Center. Come to our first big event - The Leadership Challenge - or start working on a certificate. If you have questions, email lead@rit.edu - we hope you get involved! These activities are very helpful things to add to your resume, employers are paying attention!

1. The Leadership Challenge: Jan. 12th, 10am-3pm

Test your leadership and team skills, compete in teams of 4-5 in fun challenges to win a dinner with the Vice President for Student Affairs at RIT, Dr. Mary-Beth Cooper. You can either sign up with a team of 4 or 5, or we can place you into a team. This will count as certificate sessions: Leadership Roles and Styles, Ethical Leadership, and Interpersonal Communication. 2. It is not too late to start a leadership certificate.

To get info go to www.rit.edu/lead and click on leadership certificates. You can begin working on the Personal Success Skills or Leading Others Certificates at anytime - just submit your online registration and start attending workshops!

DISA's 5th Annual Holiday Dinner will take place Thursday, December 13 from 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm in the SAU Cafeteria.

Will you be graduating at the end of Winter or Spring quarter? Did you know that you may be eligible to work for one year in the U.S. following your graduation, under what’s known as Optional Practical Training, or OPT? And did you know that you must apply 2-3 months before you graduate?

If you are an F1 student who would like to learn more about the application process for OPT, we strongly encourage you to attend one of our upcoming information sessions. To register for one of the winter quarter sessions below, please RSVP to iss@rit.edu.
