How Do I?
How Do I Report My New Address?

International Student Services and the Registrar maintain address information for emergencies and immigration notification purposes. Addresses can be updated on-line using the Student Information System (SIS) found at the RIT Information Access Center.

When using SIS, there are several screens available to enter different kinds of address information, and these can be confusing. As an International student, we ask that you enter your addresses as follows:

HOME ADDRESS - This address is your PERMANENT, INTERNATIONAL address.

SECOND HOME ADDRESS - This address is used to receive a second copy of official mailings other than bills. (For bills, please see below.) You could use the second home address field to enter a local Rochester area address for official mailings; if you chose to do this, you must also enter a local address in the LOCAL ADDRESS field as indicated below.

LOCAL ADDRESS - This address is your LOCAL ROCHESTER AREA address, either off or on campus.

  • IF YOU LIVE OFF CAMPUS: Please enter the mailing address.
  • IF YOU LIVE ON CAMPUS IN THE RESIDENCE HALLS OR AT THE RIT INN: RIT Housing Operations will automatically fill in your residence hall assignment. You should enter your mailbox address in the Local Address field as follows:
    • ### Nathaniel Rochester Hall (where ### is your assigned mailbox)
  • IF YOU LIVE ON CAMPUS IN THE APARTMENTS: Please enter your mailbox address as given by the registrar, like a street address.

NOTE: ALL ON-CAMPUS ADDRESSES END IN: Rochester, New York 14623

NEXT OF KIN ADDRESS - This address is the information for your CLOSEST RELATIVE.

EMERGENCY CONTACT - This address is someone you would want us to contact in case of emergency, and may be the same as Next of Kin. This person could also be a relative, friend or sponsor living in the United States that we should contact in case of emergency, in addition to contacting your Next of Kin.

BILLING ADDRESS - All bills are now sent electronically to your RIT e-mail account. If you have questions regarding how to receive your bill, you can contact Student Financial Services or check under "eServices" at www.rit.edu/sfs

Please check all of your address information and make the appropriate changes. This information is kept confidential and will be used only in the event of an emergency.

We appreciate your help in keeping our records current!
