If you want to leave the United States, you need to make sure that all of your travel documents are in order. You should stop by the ISS office at least one week before you leave the U.S. to have one of the International Program Coordinators validate your I-20 or DS-2019 with a current date and signature if needed. Please see one of the Program Coordinators if you are unsure about whether or not you need a current signature. To re-enter the United States you will need the following:
- A valid passport (except Canadians)
- A valid visa stamp in your passport
- A current I-20 with a valid signature or DS-2019
- A copy of your current transcript
Important:
If you have applied for Optional Practical Training, do not leave the U.S. before you have received your Employment Authorization Document (EAD). |
