Meet the Staff
Roberta DiNoto - Program Director
Roberta has an undergraduate degree in Psychology/Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She joined the Horton staff in 1988. Roberta was the Assistant Director when Margeret's House opened and became the Director in 1996. She loves getting to know the families and children. Roberta is very close with her family. She loves to travel, see theatre productions and try new restaurants.
Deanna LaManna - Assistant Program Director
Deanna joined Margaret's House in January 2016. She has a B.A. in Child and Family Studies and an M.A. in Psychology. She has been conducting preschool classroom observations throughout the City of Rochester since 2013 for The Children's Institute and throughout Upstate New York for QUALITYstarsNY. Deanna's previous work experience also includes being the Early Head Start Education and Disabilities Specialist for an ABC Head Start center, and the Infant and Toddler Education Manager at Volunteers of America Children's Center.
Deanna and her husband have 4 children. She loves sharing good food and long conversations with family and friends. Her passions include music, reading, and writing.
Marjorie Henderson - Financial Assistant
Marjorie has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics from RIT with minors in Tourism, New Media, and IT, and is currently working on a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design also from RIT. She has worked within RIT for collectively 9 years and joined Margaret's House in 2016. Marjorie and her husband have one daughter. Some of her passions include spending time with her family, being outside with their dog, designing, gardening, and traveling. She is always sharing waves and smiles with the children at Margaret's House.
Julie Pitcher - Infant 1
Julie has worked in the field of childcare for over 20 years. She graduated from Genesse Community College with a degree in Human Servies. She started at Margaret's House in 1996 and loves watching the children grow. Julie loves camping, cross stitching and photography.
Jennifer Tills - Infant 1
Jennifer holds a BA from Potsdam University. She has worked with children for over 10 years. She enjoys playing with her dogs and reading with her children.
She loves sharing hugs and smiles and is always singing with the babies.
Judy Blachowicz - Infant 2
Judy has worked in childcare for many years. She has a BS in Sacred Music and teaches piano lessons and directs her church choir. Judy started at Margaret's House in 2002. She loves the hugs and kisses and the beginnings of language that she sees in her classroom. Judy has two grown sons and she enjoys gardening, quilting, baking and reading.
Paula Judd - Infant 2
Paula has been in the childcare profession since 1989 when she began as an infant teacher. Her journey in the field of early childhood education led her to owning and operating her own childcare ceter for seven yeras. During that time, she graduated Magna um Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with a major in Early Childhoood Administration. She and her husband have 3 sons. She enjoys being a part of the explorations and discoveries that children experience every day.
Penny Kellaway - Young Toddler
Penny joined us at Margret's House in August of 2009. She has her CDA in Infant/Toddler and has been working in Childcare for 18 years. Penny loves to bake and gardening and also enjoys camping.
Juliette Brooks - Young Toddler
Juliette joined Margaret's House as a substitute Teacher in July of 2007 and became a member of the staff in August of 2009. She is an alumnus of Gallaudet Univeristy. Juliette currently is working on her CDA in INfant/Toddler Education. She has two daugters and loves Reggae music.
Denise Speicher - Toddler 1
Denise has worked with children for 20 years. She has a degree from the University of Alabama and her CDA in Infant/Toddler. She started at Margaret's House in 1996 and loves to help the children learn language and learn through play. Denise has two grown daughters. She enjoys walking outside with her husband and their two dogs.
Karin Petersen - Toddler 1
Karin has worked with children for many years. She has an AA in Human Services and a BS in Elementary Education /Physical Handicapped. Karin started at Margaret's House in 2002. She loves to sing fun songs and do fingerplays that promote interest and enthusiasm. She loves baking, gardening, reading and doing puzzles.
Ana Ambrosio - Toddler 2
Ana is originally from Portugal. She has worked with children for many years and has been at Margaret's House since 1996. Ana has a son who is a dental student. She loves to travel and spend time with friends.
Danyell Voss - Toddler 2
Danyell joined the staff at Margaret's House in August of 2009. She is currently working on her CDA. Danyell loves to read and spend time with friends and family. She has been working with children for several years and loves that everyday they show her new things!
Marlene Mokey - Preschool 1
Marlene started working with children in 1983. Marlene earned her CDA in 2004. She holds an AAS in Marketing. She came to Margret's House in 2000. She thinks the best part of her job is helping the children to develop their skills and share their joy of accomplishment. The smiles and hugs are a bonus. Marlene has two grown sons. She enjoys walking, reading, cooking, camping and family time.
Laura Steffey - Preschool 1
Laura joined us in September of 2008 but has been at RIT since 2000 teaching figure skating in the LEarn to Skate Program and for the Dept. of Athletics. She has a Masters degree from the UofR in Childhood Education and Special Ed Inclusion and a BA in political science and dance from Potsdam. Laura enjoys figure skating, hiking, gardening and of course her dog Maggie.
Susan Lamb - Preschool 2
Susan has a BS in Elementary Education. She has worked in schools in PA and Maine and preschools in Maine and NY. She joined the staff of Margaret's House in 2004. Susan has two sons and enjoys the responsibilities that come with having a son who plays sports. She also enjoys RIT Hockey and Lacrosse games.
Kristine MacDonald - Preschool 2
Kristine joined us in 2011. She worked for seven years at little Wonders Childcare in Albion and was a stay at home Mom for several years previous to that. She earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate through GCC and is currently finishing a Liberal Arts and Science with Teacher Transfer degree at GCC. Kristine enjoys interacting with the children and communicating with the parents. She also enjoys phtography and arts and crafts.
Susan Northrup - Kindergarten
Sue has worked with children for many, many years. She has her Masters in Elementary Education, a BS in Psychology and an AAS in Human Services. Sue started at Margaret's House in 1997 with the Lil Kids on Campus program. She has worked with 3 and 4 year olds and is currently our Kindergarten teacher. She loves that every day here is new and exciting. Sue has four grown children and one grandchild and loves to spend time with her family.
Gina Arieno - Cook
Gina has worked in food service for 25 years. She has been at Margaret's House since March of 2010. She lives in Chili with her husband and three active children. Gina loves children, eating out at restaurants, walking and biking with her family.
