
THE NORTH STAR ACADEMY
The North Star Academy, a North Star Center program, offered its first courses in August 2003. The Academy is a three-week summer academic enrichment, confidence, and community-building program that consist of credit-bearing courses, enrichment education, exposure to research, and community service programs. The Academy is available to first-year students who have been accepted by RIT and paid their deposit to the university. The program accepts 40 students. Once the academic year commences, students will meet with their college liaisons on a regular basis to discuss academic progress and services available to support their success.

Admission
Admission to the North Star Academy is based on the submission of a complete application and a non-refundable $200 registration fee. The $200 fee is the only direct out-of-pocket expense incurred by the student. This $200 fee is completely separate from the RIT Admissions fee and will be refunded if you are not accepted into the Academy.
