About DiscoveRIT

DiscoveRIT is an assortment of optional pre-orientation programs for incoming first-year and transfer students. Each program has a different focus and gives students an opportunity to discover RIT and the surrounding communities; become familiar with faculty, staff and resources at RIT; and make new friends through small group experiences.

DiscoveRIT is fully funded by participant fees. Upon registering, the all-inclusive DiscoveRIT fee will be applied to your fall term tuition bill. The fees vary by program (refer to Program Descriptions for exact fees). Nothing needs to be paid in advance.

DiscoveRIT participants will move in to their residence halls on Saturday, August 19 starting at 8 a.m. Each program has a different start time in the afternoon so please refer to your welcome letter for more details.
