Freshman Move-in Day

Move-in day for freshmen is Tuesday, August 20 (unless you are participating in a Pre-Orientation Program). You can get your Housing Confirmation in July from the Housing Operations website. Your confirmation provides specific information on your housing assignment, roommate, and your scheduled move-in time. If you have questions, contact Housing Operations from 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday at (585) 475-2572 or (585) 475-2113 v/tty or email housing@rit.edu.

Parking Your Vehicles on Move-In Day

• Residential students: if you are moving into the residence halls on move-in day, please follow the directions of Public Safety staff to the color-coded move-in staging areas.   You should also refer to the housing portal, myhousing.rit.edu for detailed instructions regarding the move-in process.
• Freshmen bringing vehicles to stay on campus for the year: park in Lot B (after unloading your belongings at the residence hall).
• Commuter students: park in Lot U
• Families: park in Lots E, F, G, or H (after unloading your student’s belongings at the residence hall).

Shuttles

Shuttle buses will be running throughout campus from 8:00am until 7:00pm to assist families and students. The route will include the Gordon Field House and Activities Center, the residence halls, Barnes & Noble @ RIT, and the parking lots. Shuttles run a continuous loop and stop at designated locations.

Accessibility Carts

Orientation staff will operate golf carts to assist individuals with special needs only. Wheelchairs are not available on campus but can be rented in the Rochester area from Monroe Wheelchair (monroewheelchair.com) or Southside Medical Supply (southsidemedicalsupply.com).
