RIT Undergraduate Student Orientation
This department provides Orientation for RIT undergraduate students, both first year and transfer; you will find detailed information about both programs here on this website from May - September.
RIT Graduate Student Orientation
The Office of Graduate Studies will welcome all incoming graduate students to a Graduate Student Fair followed by a Reception on during the last week of August. In addition, each College will provide orientation activities for students in its programs. Please contact the Dean's Office of Graduate Studies at (585) 475-2127 for further information.
International Students
In addition to attending the programs above, International Student Services (ISS) provides a special orientation for new international students. All new international students are required to attend. The fall program is offered just prior to the start of the RIT Undergraduate Student Orientation. Programs for students starting other quarters are offered on the first Wednesday of the quarter. The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Undergraduate Orientation
NTID first year and transfer students are required to attend a two-week orientation known as the Summer Vestibule Program (SVP). NTID-supported BS students will be scheduled for an NTID Support Service Orientation (NSSO) workshop during RIT’s Orientation program. Visit the NTID SVP website for further information.
Students Entering Winter, Spring or Summer Quarters
Orientation is offered for U.S. undergraduate students on the Sunday afternoon just prior to the start of classes in the winter and spring, but not summer quarters. International students, both undergraduate and graduate, attend their orientation on the first Wednesday of the winter, spring or summer quarters.
Students entering the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) during winter and spring quarters receive a one-day orientation on the Sunday before classes start.
