Fall, Winter, Spring Quarters
My name is Mary Lou Knapp. I am serving as Director of Campus Ministry for the Newman Parish at RIT.
My husband is Daryl Knapp; we have been members of the Newman Parish since the 1980s. We have four children and five grandchildren.
I was a math teacher in Catholic junior high and high schools in the area for most of my adult life after graduating from Nazareth College. Following completion of a Masters in Theology in 2001, I served as Pastoral Associate at St. Joseph’s Church in Rush for several years, after which I went back to the Aquinas Institute to teach Theology.
Working with students in the area of Liturgical Ministry at the Newman Parish for the past few years has prepared me well for the position I am now filling here. The students at RIT are wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoy working with them as their spiritual leader and as their friend. Age knows no boundaries on a college campus.
I hope God’s will is that I can be here for an extended time. It’s a beautiful place and all the Ministers serving here are great! The Center for Religious Life is truly interested in how best to serve the needs of RIT’s faith communities.
