Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor's degree

  • Enrolled in a graduate degree program at RIT or any area college or university

  • Experience in residential life, student activities, Greek affairs, student government, or related area is highly desirable

  • American Sign Language skills or willingness to learn is preferred

Terms

  • 20 hours per week position

  • 40 hours of training for two weeks prior to the start of the academic year, approximately August 13, 2007 to September 1, 2007

  • Ten (10) month position, August 13, 2007 through May 30, 2008

  • Renewable on an annual basis by mutual consent

Compensation

  • One bedroom furnished apartment, utilities, and local phone service included

  • Partial meal plan - $600 debit per quarter

  • $5,750 stipend over ten (10) month period

Duties and Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant for Finance will support the Senior Financial Assistant with maintaining the Center for Residence Life budget. Some of the responsibilities of the graduate assistant will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist with budget analysis and projection

  • Create cost analysis for large programs/events

  • Review, data entry and maintain copy files of daily Center for Residence Life transactions (deposit/petty cash transactions, procurement card statements, etc)

  • Advise student organizations in utilization of budgets and bookkeeping

  • Take deposits/reimbursements to Student Financial Services for processing

  • Assemble Telephone Charge Forms with current phone usage for each staff member

  • Assist the Senior Financial Assistant as needed

  • Provide office/phone coverage for the Center for Residence Life office

  • Update and keep current the CRL key inventory

  • Participate in a CRL committee as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned
