  1. What do you hope to learn from the RA experience for the future?
  2. What is your definition of leadership? Explain. Discuss a leadership experience, either formal or informal, and how it will help you as an RA.
  3. Explain what community means to you and describe a community you are involved with. What is your role within that community? How would you encourage community as an RA on your residence hall floor?
  4. Identify 3 issues or challenges facing students that live in the RIT community. Pick 1 and talk about why it is important and how you would address or assist a student living on your floor with that issue or challenge.
  5. Each of us brings different characteristics, skills, and abilities to the RA position. This next question is asking you to "Build an RA." On a separate sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper, you are to create an RA by identifying anatomical parts on a person you create (i.e. you can draw a stick figure). Each labeled part must have a purpose (a heart for compassion, shoulder to cry on, etc.) No part can be included without an explanation. Feel free to be as creative and use any materials that you would like.
