Dwayne Shaw, RA (Unity House)
"I first started in Residence Life as a Resident Advisor for Unity House in 2002. Now, its
2007, and I am still helping students at RIT adjust to college living. To me, the Center
for Residence Life means growth. You get to meet a lot of students, parents, and develop
strong relationships. I know I can call on any one of my former residents to help me out
in a bind, or to help me network in some way.
The Center for Residence Life has a motto, 'Where Living and Learning Come Together.' Truly, living in the residence halls and on-campus apartments, I have gained an insight into other cultures, and broadened my perspective of the world. As an RA, I learned how take advice. My residents were my BIGGEST support here at RIT, and I truly love all of them.
There was no other option for me. I wanted to be a RA since high school, and now I am a developed RIT leader because of the people I have met along the way."
