A little more information on Dana: I’ve been with Residence Life for three years, the first year as an RA in the residence halls, and as a GRA for the last two years. I really enjoy working with upperclassmen, because even though their problems are not as easily solved as the freshman, they are my peers and are easier to relate to. I started as a GRA last year in Winter Quarter, after returning from studying abroad in Croatia. I was the youngest RA in the group of new GRAs, and the only one that didn’t graduate. The first year had its ups and downs as we worked out the kinks in the new position, and we have made a lot of improvements for this current year. I really enjoyed going through training with this year’s GRA and Community Advocate (CA) staff, because it brought us a lot closer together.
When I’m not doing my GRA duties you can usually find me working with the RIT Ambulance (RITA), where I’ve been involved since my freshman year. I am a medic and dispatch trainer, and serve on the Eboard as the Director of Recruitment and Retention. RIT Ambulance covers all medical emergencies on RIT’s campus, and has really helped me get to know the campus inside and out. I also play year round on the RIT Field Hockey Team.
