Crotch Goblins Are Coming!

On the evening of Friday, October 29th, the Apartment Area staff will be promoting awareness of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) with their annual program titled “Crotch Goblins”. A reverse-trick-or-treat program, Crotch Goblins involves getting the Community Advocates, Global Resident Advisors, and Peer Advocate out into the various apartment communities, in Halloween costumes, to deliver information about sexually transmitted infections, proper condom use, and services available at the RIT Student Health Center related to sexual health. Additionally, Halloween candy and free condoms are given out along with printed information. Residents will also be sent an informational PowerPoint presentation on STIs coupled with a quiz that they can take to test their knowledge and register to win their very own GIANTmicrobes (stuffed animals that look like tiny microbes — only a million times their actual size). Each of the GIANTmicrobes, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes, and Chlamydia, comes with an image and information about the real microbe it represents. Keep an eye out for the Apartment Area staff in your complex on Oct. 29th!
