Sounds and Smells of Spring

by: Hye Yon Yi
Spring brings open windows, a renewed awareness of your neighbors and reminds you how some of their behaviors can make you crazy:

1.    Bass so loud that the neighbors can dance to the music you’re listening to.
2.    When people walk so loud that it sounds like a herd of elephants are trampling through the apartment above you.
3.    Accumulations of garbage to stink up the whole apartment building.
4.    Smoking inside the apartment or outside of the apartment near open windows.

It seems we need to do a little refresher on the concept of quiet hours.   In the RIT Terms and Conditions, it states:

Quiet Hours:

Throughout the academic year:
Sunday-Thursday     11:00 pm – 7:00 am
Friday – Saturday        1:00 am – 7:00 am

During exam weeks:

All areas:  24-hour mandatory quiet hours.

So fellow neighbors, take out the garbage, smoke 25 feet away from the building and remember the quiet hours policy so we can have a peaceful rest of the year!
