2009-2010 RHA Staff

Phillip Amsler

Phillip Amsler

President

Phillip Amsler is a third year Mechanical Engineering BS/MS student currently living on NRH 6, and is an Engineering House Alumni. This is his second year as king, and he is very excited to be serving again as the President.

Last year, Phil helped RHA achieve many goals including rollover debit, new lounge furniture, and whiteboards. In addition, he oversaw RHA run several successful programs from Meal or No Meal to hockey tickets for can goods. This year, he hopes to see further improvements in the Residence Halls, particularly with lighting in some of the low rise halls.

Overall, he would like to better represent the interests of students in the residence halls to Student Government and the administration here at RIT. He also would like to see an increase in successful programming for students in the residence halls. He looks forward to a great second year as your RHA President!

Colleen Kelly

Colleen Kelly

Vice President

Colleen Kelly is a third year Civil Engineering student who lives on NRH 5, "the south side". This is her second year with RHA. She is serving as Vice President, so when Phil isn't around she is the queen of the residence halls and will try and fix any inconveniences the residence halls have to offer you.

Colleen is extremely excited about this year and all the events that we are throwing (check them out!) and so proud of the staff that we have put together. She thinks the RHA staff are all fun and unique, so everyone should make it a point to come chill with us when they get a chance during office hours. (We might even be able to help with homework.)

Thomas Schellenberg

Thomas Schellenberg

SIH Senator

Thomas Schellenberg is a fourth year Computer Science student from Alexandria, VA, studying in the areas of artificial intelligence and computer vision. He's been living on Computer Science House, located on the third floor of Nathaniel Rochester Hall, for three years now. His interests are archery, billiards, board games, and hanging out with friends.

As Special Interest House (SIH) Senator, Thomas's job is to advise the seven SIHs and represent their interests to RHA, student government and the rest of RIT. Thomas's goals are to maintain healthy SIH recruitment, improve the community among the members of the different SIHs, and ensure that the SIHs remain an active an exciting place to live throughout the school year. If you are part of an SIH and you or your house are having any problems, Thomas is the guy you can contact, and he will help you out to the best of his ability.

Don't know what Special Interest Housing is? The SIHs are floors in the residence halls (NRH and Colby) shared by members with similar special interests. SIHs give students of all grade levels a large community of new friends and a social atmosphere where something's always going on, even if it's just going out to eat with your buddies. Each SIH have their own lounges and other facilities unique to their floor and special interest. SIHs also provide their members with leadership and educational opportunities outside the classroom. The SIHs are accepting new members throughout the year, so, if you're looking for more from your college experience, visit them and ask how you can become a member, too!

Cole Bowden

Cole Bowden

Programming Coordinator

Cole is a second year MechE that lives on Gibson 5. This is his first year with RHA, and I hear he's pretty stoked.

His job here at RHA is to coordinate the events that RHA sponsors, like the BBQ's on the 15th of every month, and make sure they go smoothly.

Cole told me to also mention that the best part of waking up is not 8am physics.

Rushana Aglyamova

Rushana Aglyamova

Finance Director

Rushana is a third year International Business and Finance student. This is her first year with RHA and she is very excited to be the Finance Director.

Rushana is a Resident Advisor on Gibson 3A this year and she really enjoys being an RA. She is really excited about the new academic year and all events that RHA will be organizing!

Alyssa Lynough

Alyssa Lynough

Secretary

Alyssa Lynough is a sophomore in Environmental Management. You can find her on the third floor of Gleason Hall. She serves as the Secretary here at RHA, which means that she's the one taking minutes at the meetings, keeping the office organized, and general things like that. She works a LOT of office hours (ten a week!), so if you stop in and she's there, feel free to say hi! It's her second year working at RHA, and she's really excited to see what unfolds this year.

Bobby Watson

Bobby Watson

Webmaster

Bobby Watson is a sophomore Information Technology student, and it is also his second year working at RHA. He can be found on the second floor of Building 28. He is the webmaster for this web site—so if you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to talk to him! All web-related messages sent through the contact form go directly to him. He is looking forward to a great year and hopes to see many of you at this year's events!

Brett Wilson

Brett Wilson

Graphic Designer

Brett Wilson is a fourth year Film & Animation major with a minor in Music. He is also a second year RA for Building 28, 2nd floor. Being an art-oriented major, anything involving creating something excites him.

As the Graphic Designer for RHA, it is Brett's responsibility to get RHA's name out there to all the residents, both old and new, living in the residence halls. From flyers and posters to special events art, and just random decorating of the RHA office, there is no creative artistic job that Brett won't tackle.

Goals for this year include: more eye-catching informative flyers, painting the RHA office (complete with a mural), and helping successfully run RHA's various events throughout the year.

Tim Rogers

Tim Rogers

Video Librarian

Tim Rogers is a fourth year Management Information Systems major, and is also the Resident Advisor for Fish A1. This will be his first year working for RHA as the Video Librarian, which means he's responsible for providing all residents with the awesome selection of movies RHA has to offer. If you stop by and don't see a movie you're looking for, make sure to write it down and put it in the suggestion box!

Warren Sheetz

Warren Sheetz

Residence Hall Senator

Warren Sheetz is a second year Film and Animation student. Warren lives on Art House and is the current Housing Director for the floor. You can usually see him in the basement of Building 7B or fixing/cleaning something on his floor.

As one of RHA's Senators, it is Warren's job to help represent the student body living in the dorms. This means that he finds out what you like or don't like about living in the dorms, and then sees how he can help. He's a pretty friendly guy, so, if you see him around, feel free to start up a conversation.

Unless he's animating. He gets a little absorbed.

Wes Wander

Wes Wander

Residence Hall Senator

Wesley Wander is a first year student at RIT. He is a New York City native and a big time wind surfer. This summer, he hopes to go to California and hit the waves. He is a Biotechnology major and hopes to center on genetic engineering. So far, he is really enjoying RIT's academic and social sides.

Since this is his first year at RIT, it is also his first year at RHA. He is a senator and holds office hours on Tuesday nights between four and seven. He is really interested in hearing feedback from his fellow first years, so any comments or suggestions would be great!
