A club is a student organization which is recognized by the Student Government of RIT.
Creation of a student clubs
Student Government is vested with the power to recognize all student organizations by the Board of Trustees. Student Government delegates the recognition process of new clubs to the Club Review Board.
Categories of Student Clubs
There are six types of student clubs:
- Career Related Clubs
- Cultural Clubs
- Hobby and Special Interest Clubs
- Music Related Clubs
- Religious Clubs
- Sports Clubs
Strictly speaking a club may exist outside of the recognition of Student Government. These clubs may not receive funding directly from Student Government, but typically rely on Departments, dues, or third party organizations to function. Examples of such clubs would include the Society of Software Engineers (SSE), the Computer Science Community (CSC), and the International Culture Exchange Club (ICEC).
