Student Government (SG) is a generally elected, sometimes appointed, student body that is meant to represent student interests. It is part of the institute's shared governance structure with Staff Council and Academic Senate. Among other tasks it doles out student activity fees, tries to promote cooperation, and provides services to student organizations. It was previously called the Student Council and the Student Association.
