GENERAL MEDICAL CARE
The SHC provides comprehensive primary care to students. Physician and nurse practitioner providers are available by appointment for health counseling and evaluation and treatment of common medical problems. For complex problems beyond our scope of care, students will be referred to a specialist, with guidance and coordination of care provided by SHC staff.
Some medical conditions commonly seen in the
Health Center include (but are not limited to):
- Allergy symptoms
- Asthma
- Back pain
- Bladder infections
- Headache
- Minor lacerations and suturing
- Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
- Rashes
- Respiratory infections-ear, sinus and lung infections
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Sore throats
- Sprains and strains
- Stomach problems
- Wound care
- Vaginal infections
