Math Component Coordinated by Karen Quinn, Math Instructor (01-2382) kjqspr@rit.edu Diagnostic Assessment/Teaching (individualized) to identify/respond to the variables (background, math knowledge and understanding, math/learning styles, orientation toward math, etc) that enhance or interfere with a student's math learning and performance ("Student Math Profile", "MAP") Individual Math Instruction and Support to develop/strengthen students' math competence, including: problem solving, technology, multiple representations, procedural skills, conceptual understanding, testtaking, communication, "learning how to learn math" strategies. Additional services include: advising, referrals, networking, course prep, study groups, newsletter, math tutor training, access to reference books, graphing calculator materials, math/learning research info; internet math/support resources.
