Why have a Center for Women & Gender at Rochester Institute of Technology?
The Center for Women and Gender is committed to promoting a campus community that is safe, equitable, and respectful of all members. Thus, our Center is a resource for the entire RIT Community.
The mission of the Center for Women and Gender is to foster an educational environment in which all community members can be personally, academically, and professionally successful without regard to gender, racial/ethnic origins, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, or spiritual beliefs.
We believe that equitable situations and equitable relationships for women will in turn improve the lives of all people. When women have opportunities to utilize their talents and interests to their fullest extent, in their careers and in their personal relationships, and when they are recognized and respected for their contributions, all members of the community benefit.
