Body Image

It’s hard to grow up in our culture without being affected by the many messages we receive about what is considered attractive. Body image is the multifaceted psychological experience involving your perception, imagination, emotions and physical sensations of and about your body. Your body image can profoundly impact the quality of your life.

We encourage the development of a positive body image and healthy living. The Center for Women and Gender provides support and counseling to help students achieve this. We collaborate, when appropriate and with students’ permission, with other resources and services on campus including The Counseling Center, Student Wellness and the Student Health Center. For more information, please contact Donna Rubin, Associate Vice President, Student Wellness, at 585-475-6402 or, email her at: donna.rubin@rit.edu.
