ASC Quarterly is the Academic Support Center's newsletter which has been published every fall, winter and spring quarter since 1999. It has been a vehicle for ASC faculty members to reflect on the principles that guide their work.
The newsletter shares pedagogical theory and practice with the RIT community, and has received much positive feedback through the years. The issues have provided a growing bank of written materials that have been very useful in many presentations. It began as LDC Lately, but the name was recently changed to ASC Quarterly to reflect the departmental name change.
Issues have included the following topics:
- Collaborative/Cooperative Learning
- Learning Communities
- Obstacles to Learning
- Strategic Teaching and Learning
- Learning Styles
- Reflections on Teaching
- Brain-based Learning
- Learning Math
- Learning About Teaching
- Who Are Our Students?
- Student Workers
- Student Success Stories
- Content Literacy
- Resilience
- Motivation
