Learning Disability Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Deafness

A Resource for Educators, Deafness Professionals, Parents, and the Deaf Community

Research on LD and ADHD in the deaf population has lagged far behind research on these disorders in the hearing population. Nevertheless, there is a small literature on the deaf population which we catalog here. Much of what is known about LD and ADHD in the hearing population is helpful in directing future research in the deaf population. Therefore, we have also provided some useful links here to mainstream theory and research sites devoted to the underlying mechanisms of LD and ADHD in the hearing population.
